however, when he was eleven years old, civil war was once again threatened - and this time actually occurred. the rebels were assisted by the kingdom neighbouring maldonia.when he was thirteen, enzo was forced to hide amongst the commoners with his mother and younger brother, andrew. despite their attempts to lead the rebel leaders away from the concealed royals, the house they were staying in was soon discovered and destroyed. enzo was grabbed from behind by one of the rebels, who attempted to cut his throat. this was the closest enzo came to death, and he would not have survived if a medic had not been nearby.during this commotion, the hostel that their mother had hidden in was bombed by an opportunistic airstrike. eventually, the rebels were quashed, and maldonia settled into an uneasy peace.
